logoAS.jpgAssosecurity is a non-profit making association which operates which operates throughout Italy with the aim of organizing cultural and scientific initiatives and events in order to foster the circulation of IT culture, with particular reference to the issue of IT security, and with an eye to both scientific and technological aspects, and organizational, legal and social issues.

Activities

Every year Assosecurity organizes and backs training courses, conventions and initiatives to promote the circulation and awareness of the main developments in the field of ICT security. Assosecurity plays an active role in research and development of software solutions, analysing best practices and developing prototypes, in particular promoting the spread of architectures and platforms that use open, interoperable standards. Moreover, to facilitate the exchange of knowledge in the context of the scientific and cultural worlds, Assosecurity provides direct support for scientific research by means of study grants and research funds regarding topical issues, which are offered every year. The results and observations which spring from the research projects are gathered in the Assosecurity series of publications, which includes studies such as “La gestione dell’identità digitale” (The Management of Digital Identities) and “La sicurezza nella tecnologie per la mobilità” (Security in Technologies for Mobility) produced in previous years.

Obiectives

The objectives of Assosecurity include:

  • To promote the development and coordination of initiatives on the issue of ICT security;
  • To promote the awareness and circulation of the main developments in this field;
  • To promote, by means of analysis, studies, design projects and development, the spread of architectures and platforms regarding ICT security that adopt open, interoperable standards, including by means of study grants and research funding;
  • To develop knowledge to share among members;
  • To promote the spread of open standards and Open Source, with particular reference to involvement in existing national and international initiatives;
  • To promote the exchange of knowledge in the scientific and cultural fields, and in particular, contacts between different bodies, organizations and individuals;
  • To foster the organization of conferences, events and informative initiatives;
  • To promote and back the organization of training courses and specialization courses, including post-graduate courses.
