A Psychological Approach to Information Technology Security

This paper analyses from a psychological standpoint how human and more generally psychological dimensions were taken into consideration by the recent literature related to information technology security. We discuss three main psychologically relevant dimensions such as cognitive hacking, hackers profiling and human errors and distinguish four distinct levels of psychological approaches to information security.
